GOLDEN RULE: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

The ethic of reciprocity, also known as the Golden Rule, is an ethical code that states one has a right to just treatment, and a responsibility to ensure justice for others. Reciprocity is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of HUMAN RIGHTS , though it has its critics. A key element of the golden rule is that a person attempting to live by this rule treats all people, not just members of his or her in - group, with consideration.

Traditionally, " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" also formulated as the Categorical Imperativ : "Act as if the maxim of thy action were to become by thy will a universal law of nature". Confucious had a version of the Golden Rule: "Do unto your inferiors as you would have your superiors do unto you."

Our relationships with other people probably cause more stress and anxiety than any other single factor in our life. Conflicts in the workplace, in the street, in the neighborhood, in the home, in our schools, government, churches and organizations aggravate, annoy and provoke anxiety in most of us fairly regularly. Rudeness, incivility, lawsuits and violence are increasingly common responses to the inevitable differences that arise in relationships.

The world's spiritual traditions find rare agreement in their answer to this universal problem. Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism all contain a version of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Most of our present-day social problems result from the fact that society increasingly follows two secular and cynical revisions of the Golden Rule. The first revision declares, "He who has the gold rules." This rule reinforces the most negative aspects of our competitive economic system by asserting that financial might makes right. It is the modern version of the divine right of kings, the notion that whoever has the most material power deserves to get their way.

I guess applying to these rule is certainly the key for our differences to be able to live harmoniously in this world. each and every one of us has their own explanation as well as implications to these thought. We are living in one place with different beliefs, different principles, different religions, different gods and a lot more. The important thing is that we apply this to our own life and that we would be able to reach that peace we dreaming of.

BE AWARE: Know The Symptoms and Prevention Of A(H1N1) VIRUS.

Symptoms and Prevention

What are the signs and symptoms of a person who has contracted the A(H1N1) virus? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the US Health Department and Human Services, the symptoms of A(H1N1) virus are similar to those of regular influenza. A person develops cough, fever, headache and chills. He/She will feel weak and fatigued. Other cases have also reportedvomiting and diarrhea.

People who are 65 years and above and children below five years old are at higher risk of contracting the virus. Immunocompromised patients or people with weak immune systems (e.g., cancer patients and transplant recipients), patients with chronic medical conditions, and pregnant women also face a higher risk of infection if exposed to the virus.

Since the A(H1N1) virus spreads from person to person, transmission is quick, but like other infectious diseases, also preventable. Precautionary measures include:

1. Regular and proper hand washing.
2. Covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing;
3. Avoid touching the eyes, nose and mouth because germs spread faster this way;
4. Always bringing a hand sanitizer or a rubbing alcohol to use especially after coughing or sneezing;
5. Staying away from public places like malls or concert halls;
6. Staying home if one is sick to keep from transmitting the virus to others.

Experts advice that regular hand washing is still the best defense against the spread of diseases. Antiviral medications are already available in the market for the treatment of the A(H1N1) virus.

PANDEMIC: Whats NEXT?

The Department of Health (DOH) declared the first ever community-level outbreak of Influenza A(H1N1), in a village in Jaen town, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. The declaration was made after the DOH confirmed following a two-week surveillance that 10 grade school students and a four-year-old child had infected 92 others. As of now, the Philippines has the most number of A(H1N1) cases here in Southeast Asia.

The World Health Organization (WHO) earlier declared Pandemic Alert Level 6 and alerted all countries that the A(H1N1) virus is now widespread and that further spread is inevitable. It is so alarming and scary. In this kind of situation we should be more aware of all the precautions and information so that we will be prepared and will be able to avoid this. We should participate and do our part.


What is the A(H1N1) virus? It is a new type of influenza virus that has reportedly spread throughout the US and Canada and has now reached Asia, including the Philippines. This virus is contagious and spreads from person to person in probably the same way an ordinary influenza virus does. It was initially referred to as “swine flu” because laboratory tests showed that the virus is similar to those found in pigs. However, A(H1N1) or Influenza A virus subtype H1N1 is a mutation of strains of Influenza A virus that are found not only in swine but in birds and humans as well. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the term “swine flu” is misleading since the virus is not known to be transmissible by eating pork products.

As we live in this modern day and enjoying technological advances for the convenience of our lives we are also been threatened by this scary news about this kind of stuff. I seems that living isn't safe. The more life and the way of living of every human here on earth become more advanced and complicated we are experiencing new kinds of problems that affect us all. Seems that there is always a contradicting effect on us humans. Why all of these things happens? As we answers questions in our life new issues will arise and created a new question again. Then we seek answers: seems to be endless. We've been here before and everything is in cycle.

111th INDEPENDENCE DAY of the PHILIPPINE REPUBLIC: A Reminder for us FILIPINOS.

“It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinions; it is easy in solitude to live after your own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude”.
Its been One Hundred Eleven years that we have been lavishing our own INDEPENDENCE as a NATION, for One Hundred Eleven years ago that our fathers brought forth on this archipelago a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that this nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate. . .we cannot consecrate. . . we cannot hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. Let us feel and understand the real essence of this celebration. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. Let us be proud of what we have right now and value it for we will never experience what our forefathers have been into before.

Also it is for us the living rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they fought for have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us and that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion. That we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain. That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people. . .by the people. . .for the people. . . shall not perish from this earth.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. Let us be aware and be vigilant enough to secure this freedom and independence we enjoy. Amidst the celebration we are in doubt from aggression from the people in power. We try to defy reality but we cannot deny the fact that we are still in bondage from Poverty, from violence, from unemployment, from lack of education, from corruption and a lot more.

Let us evaluate our selves of what we share in our nations progress and independence. Let us join hands to secure this INDEPENDENCE our DEMOCRACY and we will not tolerate those people who will try to destroy it and use their power for their own sake.
